Cut costs and boost efficiency in the steel industry
Energy constitutes a significant portion of the cost of steel production, up to 40% in many countries. Improvements in energy efficiency result in reduced production costs and improved competitiveness.
World crude steel production reached 1,621 million tonnes (Mt) in 2015. By 2050, steel use is projected to increase by 1.5 times that of present levels, to meet the needs of our growing population.
Ideal for process industries, where steam is available in large quantities the Heliex system can be used to:
- Generate a low cost supply of electricity
- Drive a piece of equipment
- Re-energise low pressure steam
- Power an air compressor
Unlike other technologies, such as a steam turbine, the Heliex System works with 'wet steam,' which is less expensive to produce than the dry variety, required by steam turbines and micro turbines.
