Radiant Heating
Radiant floor heating or simply floor heating.

Radiant Floor Heating or Simply Floor Heating.

EcoSmart™ Radiant heating systems supply heat directly to the floor or to panels in the wall or ceiling of a house. The systems depend largely on radiant heat transfer -- the delivery of heat directly from the hot surface to the people and objects in the room via infrared radiation. Radiant heating is the effect you feel when you can feel the warmth of a hot stovetop element from across the room. When radiant heating is located in the floor, it is often called radiant floor heating or simply floor heating

Cost-effective: Although installing hydronic underfloor heating systems can be quite costly initially; the fact that solar power is free means that you will save a lot of money on your electricity bill every month.

Even heat: Hydronic systems provide a constant and even temperature throughout the home - you can say goodbye to draughts and cold spots.

Comfortable and healthy: Radiant heating is the most pleasant form of residential heating – convection heat is far more comfortable than blowing hot air for example. It is also healthier, especially for allergy and asthma sufferers, as there won’t be large volumes of air, allergens and dust being moved around the room.

Radiant heating is a technology for heating indoor and outdoor areas.Heating by radiant energy is observed every day, the warmth of the sunshine being the most commonly observed example. Radiant heating as a technology is more narrowly defined.

How does it work?

Warm fluid circulates through special tubing, which is manufactured from material with heat-holding qualities. This tubing is laid into the concrete in broad S-shaped patterns throughout the room’s floor. Solar collectors first heat the water, and it is then circulated throughout the tubing, until it is returned once again to the solar collectors for reheating.  For overcast days or night-time use, electricity, natural/LPG gas or solid fuel boilers can be used as a back-up, ensuring that your home remains at a comfortable ambient temperature 24 hours a day.
